Two teenagers were shot and killed on Far South Side streets in
separate shooting frays late Saturday and early Sunday. Police said
there may be a link between the shootings. The first victim, Eric
Adams, 18, of 11592 S. Michigan, was shot in the chest and back on
the street late Saturday near 11240 S. Princeton. A suspect, Roscoe
Chambers, 17, of 703 E. 45th St., was arrested later and charged with
murder, police Sgt. Alvin Miller said. A second suspect is being
sought. Four hours later, Maurice Cozart, 17, of 24 E. 102nd St.,
was sitting at an outdoor restaurant at 11901 S. Parnell, when a
young man approached, pulled out a pistol and shot Cozart in the back
and abdomen, police said.
