Baking soda originally was sold as a leavening agent, used to
produce baked goods of fine taste and texture. That was 125 years
ago. Over the years, hundreds of other uses have been found for the
product.
The natural properties of baking soda make it ideal for
buffering the water in swimming pools. It can activate liquid
household bleach in the laundry, provide a favorable pH environment
in the septic system and neutralize acidosis.
You also can stretch your dollars by using baking soda as a
cleansing agent at home. Keep a box handy at the kitchen sink. If
