Article: Jane Fonda: `high treason' . . . `stood up against a pointless war'

When I lived in the Soviet Union, I was put in jail for criticizing the government in private conversations with my roommates at the student dormitory. I spent five years in the labor camps.

Jane Fonda went to the enemy's camp, during the war, and criticized her government from there while her countrymen were dying from weapons along side which she posed. I remember how highly she was praised by the Soviet media. She was never prosecuted for her actions. She remains free and making money.

I have mixed feelings about Jane Fonda. I still believe she committed high treason; her behavior was awful. But she is a good actress and a nice woman. I was impressed by her apology; perhaps ...
