GOTHENBURG, Sweden Fans attending next month's Bears-Vikings
exhibition game in Gothenburg will find that Sweden's second-largest
city is a friendly, attractive port eager for conventioneers and
tourists.
Gothenburg boasts a world-class symphony orchestra, major art
museum, broad parks, the world headquarters of Volvo and an amusement
park bigger than Copenhagen's Tivoli. It's a city of trams, open-air
cafes, new hotels, restaurants and nightclubs in the center of
Sweden's west-coast summer playground.
The Bears and Minnesota Vikings will play their exhibition game
on Sunday, Aug. 14, in Ullevi Stadium, built in 1958, seating 52,000
and the scene of numerous soccer matches.
