Once in a while a record will slither through the tunnel of love
- a record whose sound is so immediate and ingenuous it reaffirms the
joy of your first rendezvous with rock 'n' roll.
Such is the case with the Slugs' "Non-Stop Holiday."
A direct yet innocent collection of 15 power-pop compositions,
"Non-Stop Holiday" is a colorful sampler of the kinetic skills of the
Slugs. Singer-songwriter Dag Juhlin accents his clean and concise
hooks with aspiring guitar, drummer Mike Halston subscribes to the
big and controlled chaos of Keith Moon and Gregg Juhlin plays bass in
speedy slice 'n' dice diction.
This record is as surprising as a second honeymoon.
The Slugs will host a "Non-Stop ...
