There has been a revolution in organic controls - everything from beneficial insects to the simple use of floating row covers - so home gardeners now have many effective alternatives to chemicals.

Think about the consequences before using strong chemicals: You will kill beneficial insects, as well as the pests. You may pollute soil and ground water. The vegetables you eat may contain chemical residues.
