Tomatoes.
You wait all year for them, and then in August, when a bounty of
juicy, crimson fruit is available, you begin to wonder what to do
with them.
What a question.
The flavor of a fresh tomato, still warm from the sun, with the
fragrance of the vine clinging to it, is incomparable. Just bite in
and enjoy.
Fresh tomatoes are the base for easy and delicious salads.
It's difficult to improve on the taste of sliced tomatoes,
drizzled with olive oil and seasoned with plenty of freshly ground
pepper. But you might try adding a sprinkling of capers and
anchovies or mint. Top tomatoes with slices of goat cheese and place
under the broiler for a few seconds, until the cheese ...
