Many of today's interior designers in this country use pretty
cotton chintz as a powerful decorating element. Chintz comes in a
variety of colorful backgrounds and floral designs as well as checks
and geometric patterns. Decorators are forever in search of the
right chintz because it has the ability to make any room a dream
room.
While I was on a trip to Ireland recently, I visited the home of
my friend Michelina Stackpoole and her husband, George. She is a
fashion designer, and he is an antique dealer. Their home blends
traditional furnishings with a liberal use of chintz. In fact, their
