Article: Early November car sales up 17.8%

DETROIT The Big Three automakers' car sales rose 17.8 percent in early November over depressed levels in the same period last year.

General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler Corp. reported Tuesday that they sold 172,325 cars during the Nov. 1-10 period this year compared with 130,062 during the same period last year.

That amounted to a 17.8 percent increase in the daily sales rate. There were nine selling days during the period this year and eight last year.

So far for the calendar year, the Big Three said they have sold 6,020,667 cars, ...
