Article: Swift consolidates business at Grey

Another Chicago advertising account is leaving the city. The Swift/Eckrich division of BCI Holdings has consolidated all of its ad business with Grey Advertising, New York, moving several brands from Leo Burnett Co. here.

The Eckrich meat products that were handled by Burnett had a $3 million budget, a small account for an office that is approaching $2 billion in billings. The consolidation brings the Swift billings at Grey to $20 million.

Oak Brook-based Swift/Eckrich, which was started here in 1892 with rope-style smoked sausage as its first product, had many brands at Burnett during the 1960s and again in the 1970s.
