Article: Court urged to grant patient's wish to die

SPRINGFIELD Lawyers for a nursing home patient Wednesday urged the Illinois Supreme Court to allow the withdrawal of a feeding tube that keeps the brain- damaged 81-year-old Chicagoan alive.

For Belle Greenspan, the wife of Sidney Greenspan, and other family members, the request by Cook County Public Guardian Patrick T. Murphy is a simple one: official recognition of her husband's oft-stated wish not to be kept alive by artificial means.
