Article: Duran Duran returns with more maturity

When Duran Duran played its first Chicago concert at the Park West in 1981, four of the five members were too young to legally drink. Today, the youngest member is 26 and a family man.

"It's kind of ironic that on that tour we couldn't have a pint of beer, but we could play in clubs to audiences filled with older people drinking liquor," said keyboardist Nick Rhodes, 26. "Actually, those people were probably around our age now, but they seemed so much older back then!"

The group from Birmingham, England, has pared down to founding members Rhodes, bassist John Taylor, 28, and singer Simon Le Bon, 30. They will perform cuts from their latest album, "Big Thing," at 8 tonight at the UIC ...
