CHAMPAIGN It was just like old times Wednesday night at Assembly Hall for Illinois junior guard Kendall Gill.

He kissed a sweet 18-foot jumper off the glass for his first basket in six weeks. He hit a couple of three-point shots. He dunked off a fast break. He stole the ball twice. He blocked a shot. He scored, drew a foul on Iowa's B.J. Armstrong and pumped his fist in the air. He brought the 16,552 fans to their feet again and again and again.
