Although the chef doesn't wear a "Kiss the Cook" apron, the food
at a new restaurant in Wheeling is cooked on Weber grills.
The 136-seat Weber Grill, at 920 N. Milwaukee in the northwest
suburb, is owned by the company started by George Stephen, who
invented the popular cooking kettle in 1951. The restaurant opened
Jan. 30.
Miniature Webers serve as ashtrays, the globe-shaped grill is
depicted in stained-glass windows, and after-dinner Irish coffees are
prepared tableside on modified Webers.
On a patio behind the restaurant, a dozen suburban husbands
wearing aprons with silly sayings on them flip hamburger patties as
they sip beer and talk baseball. Just kidding.
