SYRACUSE 83 MISSOURI 80
MINNEAPOLIS Sherman Douglas keyed a 16-0 spurt early in the
second half with six of his 27 points, carrying No. 7 Syracuse to an
83-80 victory over sixth-ranked Missouri Friday night in the
semifinals of the NCAA Midwest Regional.
Billy Owens added 25 for Syracuse (30-7), which meets No. 3
Illinois tomorrow for a chance to go to the Final Four for the second
time in three years. The Illini (30-4) defeated No. 12 Louisville
83-69.
Missouri (29-8) never trailed in the first half and scored the
first five points after halftime to take a 47-40 lead with 18:11 to
play.
