Article: Top-notch program brings writing, publishing to kids

FREMONT, Calif. Computers are tools. This basic fact seems to elude a lot of software vendors. They labor to create one fancy, complicated program after another, without thinking about how someone will use it.

Some of the worst offenders have been companies that make educational software for children. You wouldn't believe some of the obtuse, needlessly complicated stuff I've seen parading under the guise of "educational software."
