WISCONSIN DELLS What's eight stories high, weighs 2 1/2 tons, and
floats in the wind as gently as a feather?
You're correct if you guessed a hot-air balloon. And you can
see more than 90 hot-air balloons paint the sky with rainbow colors
during the Wisconsin Dells Balloon Rally June 3-4.
The rally lures top pilots, including five-time U.S. national
champion Bruce Comstock, to this family vacation haven in a test of
flying skills. Competitions include a target drop (from 3,000 feet);
aerobatics (mainly up-and-down maneuvers); and a
follow-the-leader-style sky-jockey chase.
But the biggest draw is the mass ascension scheduled for
