Article: Soap stars, stay tuned: Here's advice from fans

I'm pleased to announce that, through suicide, train crashes, the reading of wills and the murders of heiresses, readers of this column have found solutions for the troubled characters on TV soap operas.

I recently asked readers to give advice to soap stars. They responded with hundreds of imaginative suggestions. Even characters who were killed off long ago were given urgent advice on how to make their comebacks.

Readers conjured up a lot of confusing, convoluted plot lines. (Some entries went on for 10 pages.) That's why I asked soap-opera researcher Saul Carliner to help me pick winners.
