Something bugging you this time of year? If you're a gardener,
it shouldn't come as a surprise.
That's because insects are plentiful this summer after the mild
winter. The Plant Information Office at the Chicago Botanic Garden
is collecting many insect samples for identifcation and control
recommendations.
Each insect has a different and specific life cycle. The most
effective way to approach insect problems is first to identify the
insect and then to find out about its feeding habits and life cycle,
so the controls seem more logical. This also helps to avoid control
