Stone Bridge 14
Lafayette held No. 17 Stone Bridge's offense well below its season
averages and eliminated the Bulldogs, 26-14, yesterday in the
Virginia AA Division 4 semifinal in Ashburn.
The Rams (10-2) limited Stone Bridge to 81 rushing yards and 227
total yards, 141 fewer than the Bulldogs' season average. Stone
Bridge entered averaging 33.7 points per game.
Lafayette, which rushed for 237 yards on 52 carries, was led by
freshman fullback George Pittman, who rumbled for 108 yards and two
touchdowns. Freshman quarterback Kyle Hughes completed 5 of 7 passes
for 107 yards.
