Article: Russian caraway seeds distinctive

There are caraway seeds and then there are Russian black caraway seeds, which also are called chernuska seeds. Most people are familiar with the "eyebrow"-shaped regular caraway seeds that give rye bread its flavor. Russian black caraway seeds have a more pronounced aroma and stronger aniselike flavor. They are used for earthy pumpernickel breads, among other things.
