Article: Harvest taste of fall with flavorful, filling Cornish pasties

Although I'm an urbanite to the core, each fall I get an urge to
capture in my menus the taste of farm harvests. Not that I'm
gleaning the last of my corn in the field (I am likely to be looking
for those remaining decently plump ears in my supermarket), but I
crave foods that mark the transition from summer to fall and winter.
It's a good bet my harvest meal includes squash or sweet
potatoes, apples, nuts and pork, which I consider the quintessential
meat for the season.
Some years I translate the ingredients into a glorious soup;
other years it's pasta. But this year I was inspired by a recipe for
Cornish pasties.
