The verdict is in: Heather, get dressed.

A reader recently wrote me to take issue with "sexually explicit" advertising. She cited the health club ads featuring Heather Locklear. "I hope everyone who feels as I do will write to you, Zazz," she concluded.

I told readers they could address their envelopes either "Heather, Get Dressed," or "Heather Looks Fine to Me." The result: 153 readers (88 percent) asked Heather to get dressed, and 21 people (12 percent) said she looked fine.

This was not a scientific poll. Still, the stack of mail I received should be a warning to advertisers.

"Please convince Heather that a wrapped package is much more exciting."
