SEATTLE When beer lovers talk about the Pacific Northwest, the
region is described as the "Bordeaux of the Northwest."
That quote from beer expert Michael Jackson aptly describes the
glorious beers, but it doesn't credit beerpubs for creating wonderful
foods to accompany the full-flavored brews.
At the Pacific Northwest Brewing Co., Ltd., an attractive brass,
brick and wood brewpub in an historic part of Seattle, the food vies
with the beer for honors. Regional specialties, such as geoduck
gritters, Penn Cove mussels, alder smoked salmon jerky and pizza with
dungeness crab are featured.
