Nathaniel Brown, the only male on top-ranked Robeson's
cheerleading squad, says "cheerleading is for everyone, not just for
girls."
It is paying off for Brown, too. A one-time football player
whose dream of playing in college was shattered by an injury,
Nathaniel is assured of attending college - on a cheerleading
scholarship. He has three offers and likely will attend Jackson
(Miss.) State.
"At first, the guys used to tease me and call me names but that
didn't bother me," said Brown, a senior who has been a cheerleader
for three years. "You just have to know who and what you are."
Brown says it's fun to be No. 1. In fact, Brown and his
