The Cubs have scheduled their first Sunday night game at Wrigley Field to accommodate a cable television contract, prompting a barrage of complaints from Wrigleyville restaurants and theaters.

Cubs President Donald Grenesko said the team had no choice but to schedule the Sept. 9 game against the St. Louis Cardinals because of a new contract that permits ESPN to televise 24 Sunday night games this year.
