BOGOTA Colombia's top drug lords Wednesday offered to halt their
terror campaign and stop trafficking in exchange for a blanket
pardon, but a Cabinet minister said the government was unlikely to
accept any conditions for a truce.
The Extraditables, so called because they are wanted in the
United States, issued a statement in Medellin, the nation's drug
capital, that said they "accepted the triumph of the state,
institutions and the government."
"We accept the prevailing legal order with the hope of obtaining
from the government and society the respect for our rights and the
reintegration of our families and communities," the statement said.
