If Elvis Presley is still alive, this is one act that has to be
breaking his heart. Tortelvis, who claims to be the "legitimate" son
of Elvis, fronts Dread Zeppelin, a six-piece Los Angeles band that
plays reggae covers of Led Zeppelin songs and looks like a
hallucinogenic Graceland tour group.
You have not lived a complete life until you've seen an Elvis
impersonator sing the "Immigrant Song" and "Misty Mountain Hop."
Dread Zeppelin will make its Chicago debut at 10 p.m. tomorrow at
Lounge Ax, 2438 N. Lincoln (525-6620). Opening the show will be John
"Sinatra" Connors, who sings rock standards such as "White Rabbit" in
