If your child has a chronic runny nose, unexplained itching,
rashes or other unusual symptoms, the problem may be lurking in his
or her diet.
Food allergies are not uncommon among infants and children, and
they can eventually produce dangerous reactions if not diagnosed and
treated, say pediatric experts.
Foods that often cause problems include eggs, wheat, milk,
citrus fruits, peanuts, fish, chocolate and soybeans, says Dr.
Gilbert Friday, chief of the Asthma and Allergic Disease Center at
Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
"The best way to determine if an infant is allergic is to do a
