Article: Farina back; hopes to spur Gordon Tech

The Chuck Farina era has ended at Leyden but it may just be beginning at Gordon Tech.

Farina, 62, who retired as Leyden's wrestling coach after 36 years, has accepted the coaching job at Gordon Tech.

Farina's teams at Leyden and East Leyden compiled a dual meet record of 592-85-7 and finished in the top three in the state eight times, winning state titles in 1960 and 1978. He also coached 54 state place-winners and 17 state champions. He continued as the school's head coach after retiring as a physical education teacher three years ago.
