WISCONSIN DELLS Our kids don't care that Wisconsin Dells has gone to
the dogs. Racing greyhounds aside, the special brand of Dells puppy
love for 4-year-old Kate and 2-year-old Dayne is the stuff made of
water slides, Duck rides and Indian pow-wows - not bow-wows.
So my wife, Debbie, and I loaded up the mini-van and pointed it
toward Wisconsin's No. 1 family vacation spot. The heat on our first
day sent us to the nearest water theme park, FamilyLand, which
provided 40 acres of splashy thrills. It boasts the Midwest's
largest wave pool with breakers nearly 6 feet high, plus Demon's
Drop, the "world's steepest and fastest water slide."
