A few months ago, I received a letter from Brother Andrew
Corsini of the Holy Cross Fathers in Niles. Corsini wrote: "I
suggest that you might try to find that old-fashioned favorite, the
ham salad sandwich. When was the last time you found that on a
menu?"
Fueled by that suggestion, I went on a ham salad sandwich
search, but I quickly ran out of gas. The only ham salad sandwich I
could find was the one served at the place Corsini mentioned in his
letter: the Country Maid Cafe at 1143 Church St. in Northbrook ...
