Aon Corp.'s unsolicted bid of $40 a share was rejected Tuesday
by Corroon & Black Corp.'s directors. The company had an agreement
to be acquired by Willis Farber PLC, a British insurance brokerage,
when Aon made its offer last Wednesday. In rejection the late offer,
Corroon & Black Chairman Richard Miller noted that Aon Chairman
Patrick G. Ryan said he wouldn't pursue a bid if it was rejected by
Corroon directors. Aon officials couldn't be reached late Tuesday
for comment.
