Dear Zazz: I'd like to comment on your column about nice guys.
I almost lost my nice guy. In the five years that I've known
Joe, I left him four times, broke off two engagements and finally
came back.
I tumbled through this turmoil because I couldn't believe that
an understanding, sensitive nice guy could also be Mr. Right. My
ideal only allowed for a tall, dark and handsome man with power and
prestige.
At age 25, I thought I had the perfect catch - a tall,
distinguished bank president. The only obstacle in our fairy tale
romance: He never listened. He thought a relationship consisted of
him giving orders.
When my beloved banker put the boardroom before my heart for the
final time, ...
