MIAMI The president of the Orange Bowl Committee spends much of the year on the phone or on the road. He has to wear a loud orange blazer, and he doesn't even receive a free ticket to the game.

So why did Arthur Hertz want the job?

"It's associating with people involved in athletics and high-profile events that's gratifying," Hertz says. "You meet these people, and you develop lifetime friendships with them. It's great fun and really an exhilarating feeling of involvement."
