Article: Swiss tourist office can supply money-saving tips

The Swiss National Tourist Office, sensitive to American concerns about the high cost of travel in Europe, is stockpiled with free information for saving money on lodging, meals and transportation.

One pamphlet, "Inexpensive Hotels, Inns and Pensions and Switzerland," lists more than 300 properties where a room for two persons is available in summer for 60 Swiss francs (about $48) or less, with breakfast and service charges included.

Another brochure features "E & G Hotels," an association of 220 guesthouses similar to bed-and-breakfasts. Yet another, "Country Inn SHA," covers about 100 places classified as reasonably priced by the Swiss Hotel Association.
