I say the next time we want to humiliate a dictator, instead of
going to war, let's take him shopping at Loehmann's.
Because standing in one of those well-lit communal dressing
rooms under ruthless lighting and the unflinching gaze of strangers
is a true exercise in ego-destruction. Of course the problem is that
the Pentagon has no idea about the full potency of dressing room
devastation. That is because the Pentagon is run by guys. And
dressing room devastation is an unexperienced phenomenon for guys.
Guys don't go into dressing rooms. They don't have to. That is
because the world of guy clothes is "size stable" (a 36 is a 36 is a
36) and "fashion static" (a blue shirt is a blue shirt ...
