AUGUSTA, Ga. The Masters from A-Z. Or 26 things you should know
about the most traditional of all American golf tournaments played at
one of the loveliest venues in the world:
AMEN CORNER: Amen to the groundskeepers. The historic 11th,
12th and 13th at Augusta National were all but washed away by
torrential rains last October. Work by the crew, led by
superintendent Marsh Benson, prevented permanent damage. By January,
you could hardly tell there had been a problem.
BUSINESS: Augusta National Golf Club's 300 members are
discouraged from talking about this while on the grounds. This is a
golf course, not an office park.
