Article: Chicago Heights employee named in corruption probe

An assistant program manager for Chicago Heights on Wednesday became the sixth south suburban official to be charged in a federal corruption investigation.

Ralph Galderio, 60, of Chicago Heights, is accused of conspiring to extort $6,000 in cash in 1986 and 1987 for Chicago Heights tree-trimming contracts. At the time, Galderio was the city's assistant superintendent of streets and public improvements, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Chris Gair.
