Allergy sufferer Kevin McDonnell cut his grandparents' lawn last
week, breathing in all that nature had to offer. He spent the next
day indoors, coping with itchy ears and throat and a runny nose.
Between sneezes, the 22-year-old Oak Lawn college student said:
"I'm feeling pretty crummy, and I expect things to get a touch worse
in the next few weeks."
In fact, over the next six weeks, things are expected to get
more than a touch worse for about 1 million Chicago area residents
who suffer from seasonal allergic rhinitis, better known as hay
fever. It's the most common allergic condition treated by American
doctors.
