Kris Monaghan thought she had it made.
Instead the 31-year-old golfer from Los Alamos, N.M., left her
last chance for victory in the inaugural LPGA/Chicago Sun-Times
Shoot-Out hanging on the right edge of the 18th hole Sunday.
"I thought I would make that putt," said Monaghan, who started
the final round with a three-shot lead over Tina Barrett and appeared
to be cruising to victory. "I hit a good putt. It just didn't go
the way I wanted it to go."
By missing the downhill eight-footer, Monaghan was unable to
