This weekly column covers TV critic Ginny Holbert's picks for weekend
viewing.
TODAY
"American Playhouse." 9 to 10:30 p.m., WTTW-Channel 11. Three
prize-winning short films make up this rerun of the reliably
entertaining "American Playhouse." The first film, Jonathan Sanger's
"Peacemaker," focuses on a boy growing up during the Cold War, while
Susan Roger's "Astronomy" tells the story of a little girl who finds
that stargazing gives her a temporary escape from hard reality.
Stephen Tolkin's "The Price of Life" has as its intriguing premise a
world in which time is used as currency. Sun-Times TV critic Lon
Grahnke gave the trio two stars when it first aired earlier this
year.
