The changing face of La Salle Street has inspired the formation
of a counterpart to such promotion-minded institutions as the State
Street Council and Greater North Michigan Avenue Association.
Reflecting the growing retail presence on the one-time canyon of
financial institutions, the La Salle Street Council emerged three
months ago.
"It's a neighborhood organization for a unique neighborhood,"
said Council President Bernard P. Edelman of the law firm Rosenthal
and Schanfield. "We have everybody from the Federal Reserve and
other banks to 75 percent of the building owners on La Salle Street
and many of their tenants."
In the four years since Bigsby & Kruthers was a "pioneer"
