ATLANTA All at once, quicker than you could say Chop Block, the chant
stopped. Fifty thousand natives shook their heads, tucked their foam
tomahawks under their arms and went home. The incessant commotion
that has swept this title-starved city, the tom-tom beat and the
war-cry echoes, suddenly was replaced by strange new sounds at 12:33
in the Southern morning.
"Let's go Bucs! Let's Go Bucs!"
"We are . . . Pittsburgh!"
And then, for good measure, a sarcastic "OHHHHH oh
OH-OH-OH-OH!"
The Pirates live.
