Article: Lawyers hail Bankruptcy Court

A Chicago Council of Lawyers study has found that Chicago's Bankruptcy Court, once "an insiders' club," has improved so much it is "perhaps the best court that sits in the city of Chicago."

The council, a 1,300-member association, gives most of the credit for improvement to the United States Circuit Court of Appeals here, which in 1984 was given the job of chosing new bankruptcy judges.

The court is up to date on its caseload and "almost all of the bankruptcy judges are now doing at least an adequate job; the perfomance of many is excellent. Indeed, many lawyers think that the Bankruptcy Court now has the best bench, top to ...
