MIAMI Favored Dance Floor won Saturday's $250,258 Fountain of
Youth Stakes at Gulfstream Park by 4 1/2 easy lengths, but whether
the 3-year-old is Kentucky Derby horseflesh is something to be
learned later.
Florida's local star, Pistols And Roses, second choice at
$17-10, was moved up to second after a disqualification that didn't
involve him. Longshot Careful Gesture, finishing second, bothered
Tiger Tiger and Sir Spinder, so he was disqualified and the 44-1
shot, Tiger Tiger, was moved up to third.
A crowd of 16,186, that included Illinois Gov. James Edgar, saw
an 11-horse race that had the Hammer family's Dance Floor looking
