Political primaries are of secondary importance to Wall Street
right now.
After a poor showing in the Republican primary in New Hampshire
by President Bush Tuesday, the stock market opened Wednesday with
little reaction. Instead of panicking over the misfortune of a
president who is very popular in the investment community, Wall
Street just shrugged and went on to worry about the usual things -
like what Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan was going to say to
Congress that day.
Then on Thursday, the Dow Jones industrial average picked up 50
points to finish at another record.
So when will Wall Street start worrying about President Bush's
fate?
