Bill Clinton is it, all the pols and prognosticators are telling
us now.
With Paul Tsongas gone, Bill Clinton looks now like a cinch for
the Democratic presidential nomination, they say.
OK, maybe they're right. But I'm still confused. There seems
to be a whole herd of Bill Clintons out there. And I'm not clear on
which one they're talking about.
Are we, for instance, getting the Bill Clinton who's been
running around talking about taking big money out of the defense
budget and spending it on domestic needs?
Or are we getting the Bill Clinton who, two weeks before next
Tuesday's Connecticut primary, suddenly came out in favor of building
more awesomely expensive Seawolf nuclear ...
