Twelve years after Chris Zorich fussed about being forced to
watch "Brian's Song," he was singing it Wednesday.
Zorich was named winner of the Piccolo Award, which is presented
annually to the Bears rookie who best exemplifies former Bear Brian
Piccolo's courage, loyalty, teamwork, dedication and sense of humor
in the estimation of Bears veterans.
Now Zorich is happy his late mother Zora made him sit in front
of the television and watch "Brian's Song" when he was 11.
"I wanted to go outside and play," Zorich said.
After the movie, he wished he had gone outside and played
instead. "Annoyed" was Zorich's reaction.
"As a young kid, it wasn't exciting," Zorich said. "I was
