St. Rita had everything figured out Monday except Tom Tracy. The
Brother Rice reliever loaded the bases in the seventh inning before
preserving a 6-4 Crusaders upset in the Catholic League South.
Brother Rice (11-7, 4-3) built its lead behind Mike Stritch, who
was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Winner Rich Hart (2-1) left
after six innings and No. 9 St Rita (17-3, 8-1) loaded the bases with
two out on Tracy. Dan Quaid, who hit a two-run single in his
previous at-bat, struck out to end it.
Loyola 3, Leo 0: Peter Patton (2-0) threw a two-hitter with 10
strikeouts and no walks for Loyola (13-6, 7-0) in a Catholic League
crossover.
